Silt Boom 0.5-6.5 metre
Product code: SB
Description
A silt boom (also known as silt curtain) is ideal for dredging, excavating and piling or where machinery operates in and around water. Silt booms trap and contain sediment and silt, preventing it from contaminating other parts of the waterway.
-
Silt boom is designed to control the settling of silt suspended in water by providing a controlled area of containment.
-
The boom allows water to flow freely through the curtain, while acting as a barrier against sediments and other materials.
-
The silt boom is manufactured to suit each customer's specific requirements. Silt curtains / silt booms can be made in lengths up to 30 metres and skirt heights of 1m to 6.5m. Skirt can be sectionalised to suit changing water depths.
- All fabric joins are stitched with strong webbing to join the geotextile fabric curtain.
- Float size varies depending on the depth of skirt.
- The wovewn geotextile fabric curtain has a 200 micron pore size, effectively trapping particles greater than 50 micron.
- Regular maintenance checks should look for growth build-up and silt blinding the boom.
- Clean and store the reusable silt boom / silt curtain for your next project.
