Description

Scantrawl from DESMI is a unique boom system for the recovery of floating tar balls, fuel oils, oil contaminated debris, residual tar after oil burns and bitumen residues from Orimulsion spills.

The Scantrawl is able to filter the water, trapping heavy oils in a trawl net equipped with a heavy-duty cover tube. Each trawl bag can be disconnected from the sweeping wings or previous trawl bag, closed and towed for disposal or cleaning. The trawl bags are inexpensive to replace.

• The Scantrawl system can be very rapidly deployed with only small workboats. No hydraulic power or heavy mechanical equipment is required - only a simple air blower for inflation of the sweeping wings.
• Each net trawl bag is equipped with a (heavy-duty) rip-stop cover tube with connector wire, control lines and pickup buoy.
• Each system comes supplied as standard with multiple trawl bags to ensure correct operation and continuous trawling for longer periods once deployed.
• The Scantrawl system can also be deployed as a side-sweep system to increase the flexibility and collection area of the system if required.
