Spill Training
Oil/fuel and chemical spills are an issue for many businesses in today's world of contaminated site regulations, unauthorised discharge regulations, safety and duty of care. Perth Petroleum Services recognised this 15 years ago and established Australian certified spill courses.
Today, PPS has several options for spill training. Firstly our original three-hour "Control, Containment and Cleanup of Oil Spills on Land" course. This is a nationally accredited course (52276). The course is part of leading mining, oil & gas and marine companies inductions and a "must have" course before entering site. See below for more details...
Secondly, we offer a specialised Chemical Spill course designed for those personnel who may be required to respond to a small workplace incident or actual release of a chemical liquid. The responder will be taught to control the spill using a small spill kit, PPE and other response equipment. The course is based on the elements of competency for "Confine small workplace emergencies" (PUAWER008B). The relevant Australian Standard is AS3745-2010.
Thirdly, is our "Introduction to Spill Kits" DVD course. It is designed to ensure customers buying spill control equipment from Perth Petroleum Services know how the equipment is to be used. This 30 minute course takes participants through the various steps and procedures needed to ensure that the correct spill equipment is used at a spill and gives the participants an idea on how to use each of the tools in a spill kit.
